I also spent some time skim reading Shalloway and Trott. A very nice book with plenty of examples, and it addresses some more advanced Design Patterns I have not covered yet. It is fairly lightweight as it seems to be designed to be skim read or used as a reference, as appose to remembering every detail.

A basic attempt at trying to make Virus! in C# failed as I couldn't make a successful draw() of a red blood cell to my application. I'm considering to use Java instead.

  • Chapter 1 - Mid July. The Rain bellows against the university windows.

Captain's Log 14/07/10. I decided on a topic for my project, a basic simulator of a virus infecting some blood cells. I drew up a basic UML diagram on paper and a potential layout of the application whilst running.

I also spent some time skim reading Shalloway and Trott. A very nice book with plenty of examples, and it addresses some more advanced Design Patterns I have not covered yet. It is fairly lightweight as it seems to be designed to be skim read or used as a reference, as appose to remembering every detail. (2hr)

A basic attempt at trying to make Virus! in C# failed as I couldn't make a successful draw() of a red blood cell to my application. I'm considering to use Java instead. (1.5hr)

  • Chapter 2 - End of July. My Car is covered in ice.

Captain's Log 30/07/10. I finally got around to making a page for my project, and my home page. I also began to write this log. (1.5hr)

Discovered a application for creating UML diagrams, Microsoft Visio. Although I don't have it installed so I used an online tool for creating an initial diagram. (2hr)
